More and more organizations are moving from on-premise to cloud for the obvious benefits cloud presents, including seamless upgrades, cost efficiency, constant availability of the most current version and scalability. Those of us who have relied upon on-premise software might have, at some point, struggled with upgrades and patches. Infrastructure maintenance and the need for dedicated on-site support can make on-premise systems cumbersome and expensive. That puts executives like the CIOs under pressure to reduce costs. A cloud-enabled system can be a viable alternative.
On-premise systems are often customized by organizations to suit their requirements. But this also means that upgrades modify or omit existing customization, making things worse instead of better.
